As internal medicine physicians, Union Square Medical Associates provides preventive and annual physical examinations, along with medical care for acute and chronic illnesses.
Preventive Care
Preventive care is typically covered 100% by insurance and includes an annual well visit:
- Physical examination
- Vaccines and immunizations
- Health screening tests
- Hearing and vision tests
- Blood work, as appropriate
You’ll want to bring a list of any medications you are taking and be prepared to discuss any concerns you have with the doctor, so that additional testing or beneficial treatments can be considered. For many people, this is the only time they will see the doctor all year unless they get hurt or sick. Take advantage of this time to check in with your doctor and take charge of your health.
We also provide pre-employment physicals and Department of Transportation physicals.
Internal Medicine
For medical conditions that are causing you pain or are keeping you from doing what you want to do, our doctors can use a variety of tools to make a diagnosis and create a treatment plan. We have onsite diagnostics available, including X-rays, laboratory testing, electrocardiograms, diagnostic ultrasounds, echocardiograms (EKG), and vascular studies.
Common conditions we see and treat include sore throat, seasonal allergies, stomach ache, vomiting/nausea, diarrhea, infections, and minor injuries. We also handle ongoing health maintenance for patients with chronic conditions, such as diabetes and heart disease.
When necessary, we will refer you to a specialist, and if you are ever admitted to Trinitas Regional Medical Center, we will provide follow-up care for you there.
In addition to internal medicine, we participate in research and clinical trials for several of the conditions we treat.
